Matinee
Prior to the bombing of Pearl Harbor, there was a group of Japanese minsters under the command of Colonel Yasue who believed that Franklin D. Roosevelt was Jewish. Hoping to persuade Roosevelt to remove the oil embargo that he imposed on Japan in 1935 for attacking China, this group of ministers allowed Jews from Europe to find safe haven in Kobe, Japan. These Jews flourished while in Japan. The plan was to send the head of the Jewish Committee to the United States to convince Wall Street, Congress and Hollywood that Japan was good to the Jews and hopefully money, exports and good relations would follow suit. Unfortunately another group of ministers under the command of Tojo had a different plan. That plan was to attack Pearl Harbor. This is the story of how 6,000 Jewish lives were saved. Out of evil, can come good.
